This is the first time I purchased a 1/4 scale figure. The figures that toy company "Neca" have been putting out the past couple of years are outstanding.
The likeness to the Danny Devito Penguin from 1992s Batman Returns is outstanding as is the articulation and detail. These figures even at retail are reasonable at around $100. I purchased this one for cheap on OfferUp. Best figure of the Penguin I've ever seen. Came with monocle, cigarette with long stem, and half eaten raw fish. Also one additional flipper. Didn't come with umbrella but I'm going to make one.
I started making an umbrella for the 1/4 scale Penguin from Batman Returns. He did not come with an umbrella. Why Neca Toys? Bought a couple of swishers from Dollar General to use as the wiring and disassembled a cheap umbrella for the material and frame points. Going to use a piece of a small flag hanger for the handle. Will try to make it with a long knife at the end.
Finally finished the Penguins stand and also his umbrella. Umbrella is somewhat primitive but it goes with the theme of this penguin. Don't know what this penguin (which is excellent from Neca) was not shipped with his signature umbrella. I noticed that several people on the internet had made their own and I did the same.
