Mod of Superman vs. Batman - Superman

This is the overall mod. I took the suit, cape, and boots off of Superman and replaced the body. The original body was not terrible but only had 15 points of articulation, no waist movement, closed small hands and not enough muscle definiton. So I replaced it with a muscular, very articulated body purchased off ebay some time ago for around $20 and sewed the suit back on the new body. As you can see the new body is truer in color, more points of articulation (31 points) with seamsless arms. It has more muscle definement in the arms and legs and looks more like a real hot toys body (keep in mind that hot toys editions of superman are selling from $300 to $500). I also ordered a realistic headsculpt of Henry Cavill (the actor who plays superman) off of the internet from China. It should be arriving soon to complete the project.

The new
superman body fully clothed with the new headsculpt. These bodies allow for different hand poses.
This is the Original headsculpt that came with the matel superman. As you can see, not very realistic at all. (It looks like a Ken doll. In fact, the figure is called the Barbie Superman. :) )
This is the New Headsculpt. It was ordered on ebay from China for $26. A little pricy but the likeness is spot-on. The color is a little off compared to the body with light directly on the figure. May have to do some blending to make it look natural with the neck.

The original hands which were small and set. No poseability

One of the hands on the new body which can be removed for a fist or grip type hand.
The chest and torso of the orignial body. It is not bad but lacks definition and muscle.

The new body is much more muscular, more articulate (it bends at the waist) and the muscle is more defined like the real superman.
This is the difference in the legs of the two bodies. The first picture is the orginal. The second is the new body with the suit.  Again more muscle definition and more articulation.
This is the new body which I re-stitched from the back. I had to break the seam since the suit was sewn on the original body. Could have sewed on a zipper but do not plan to take the suit off once the mod is complete.
This is the new body with the suit in a side by side comparison with the origial body. See, no waist movement. The original is not a bad superhero body but not really high quality.

This is a side by side comparison of the original Matel "Barbie" Superman from the Batman vs. Superman Movie with the moded Superman. The only items that the two figures have in common is the excellent costume, boots, cape. The stand was a doll stand bought at Goodvill for .99. The stand was painted and a Superman magnet was added to the stand. The finished product looks nice in the display case next to Wonderwoman from the movie.
