Original $19.99 Jakks Pacific 18 inch 1/4 scale Armored Batman. Very generic with arms in an awkward pose position in front of legs. No articulation in knee joints. Bland paint and looks like plastic. Eyes are just white with no illumination. Customization will include adding light to eyes like in movie.
Beginning of the new ‘rooftop’ stand.
Disassembly of the body, refinishing with shoe polish, buffing, and dry brushing the silver onto the whole body. Also dremeling out the areas to install the lights for the eyes. Also painted the inside of the head in order to reflect the light and cut out the eyes so the light can be seen.
Refinishing continued
Also dremeled and trimed the arms for repositioning.
cut one of the legs at knee joint and repositioned so that Batman can "walk" (pose walking on the roof). Used epoxy clay to reshape and fill the knee.
Batman with eyes lit up and holding the krytonite spear that I made from a dowel, wood-burning tool, and threaded tube connector. Painted the tip a metallic green. Also had to heat up the hands so that I could reshape to hold the spear and make a clinched fist with the other hand. Used loctite glue to complete the process.
Used wood-burning tool to create the "bricks" on the stand and used sandpaper for the rook. Painted all a primer gray.
The original cape was made out of cheap material but bought canvas material and made a really good cape and weathered it with scissors and paint.
Still working on the figure but it is progressing well.
